Lab Technician
Our client is currently seeking a Lab Technician for a 6 month contract opportunity in St. Louis, MO.
Overview
This entry-level Lab Technician will support microbiological testing and analysis of raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples. The position requires adherence to established procedures and regulatory guidelines in a cGMP laboratory environment.
Responsibilities

Follow good documentation practices for all laboratory activities

Receive media, reagents, and solutions

Run autoclave cycles and maintain equipment readiness

Archive data and files per site procedures
-
Perform housekeeping and cleaning
-
Create samples in LIMS and send test results to customers

Conduct water and product bioburden testing
-
Perform gram stain and interpret results
-
Carry out environmental monitoring in production areas

Perform microbial limits testing as per USP <61> and <62>

Conduct endotoxin testing using kinetic methods

Sample water in various production zones

Follow site HSE policies and participate in GMP walkthroughs

Support safe work standards in the laboratory

Review and approve select levels of peer work

Handle package receipt and dispatch from other sites

Order laboratory supplies
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience in a cGMP environment preferred

Familiarity with lab instrumentation such as analytical balances, pH meters, TOC analyzers, and autoclaves

Ability to perform purified and DI water testing to USP standards

Knowledge of aseptic techniques and microbiological principles

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work 8-hour shifts with potential for nights, weekends, and holidays

Comfortable working in both laboratory (80%) and office (20%) environments

Reports to the Supervisor of Quality Microbiology and interacts with various departments including R&D, Production, Safety, and Logistics
