Talascend is currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Ogden, UT.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to support the design, development, and review of civil and structural systems on high-impact projects. In this role, you will lead field investigations, conduct client interviews, and develop cost estimates and work scopes. Your technical leadership will guide the planning and execution of complex engineering deliverables to meet project requirements.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to support the design, development, and review of civil and structural systems on high-impact projects. In this role, you will lead field investigations, conduct client interviews, and develop cost estimates and work scopes. Your technical leadership will guide the planning and execution of complex engineering deliverables to meet project requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and prepare detailed civil/structural designs and documentation for buildings, roadways, rail systems, and more.
- Perform advanced structural analysis using statics, dynamics, and materials engineering principles.
- Develop and check complex engineering deliverables, including steel and concrete calculations, drawings, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Select structural materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) based on load and stress criteria.
- Analyze and resolve conflicting design requirements and develop innovative solutions.
- Support procurement and subcontracting processes, including bid evaluations and technical recommendations.
- Provide technical support during project execution and construction phases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or international equivalent)
- 8–10 years of relevant design and field experience (or 12–14 years without a degree)
- Proficient in structural design and analysis with a full understanding of industry codes and practices.
- Experienced in utilizing Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, BSAPs, and Design Control processes (DCCL, DRNs).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver on complex engineering challenges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply creative solutions in design.
