A Talascend client with projects in Lake Charles, LA has a need for an Electrical Helper to operate inspection equipment for an approximate 6 month project.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or trade school certification, is preferred
- 3 – 5 years experience in an industrial environment required
- 1-3 years electronic technical experience
- Experience with AC/DC motors and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience in the oil, gas and pipeline industry strongly preferred
- Physical requirements:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Standing for long periods of time
- Walking for on even and uneven surfaces
- Pushing/pulling equipment on trolley frequently
- Climbing steps or step ladders occasionally
- Balancing, stooping, kneeling occasionally
- Good vision to make measurements, read gauges & screens on equipment
- Responsible for operation of Cleverscan inspection equipment (Cleverscan Training is Available)
- Able to set up Cleverscan equipment for operation daily
- Responsible for troubleshooting equipment under a stressful environment, and difficult work conditions, depending on job location
- Responsible for commissioning Cleverscan equipment to be used on projects
- Offer support to Mechanics and Electronic technicians when needed
- Responsible for assisting tool-box meetings
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to deadlines
- Ability to work long hours when needed
- Self-motivated; ability to work and learn under minimum general supervision
- Performs routine maintenance; determines what kind of maintenance is needed
- Performs- physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, stooping
- Able to revise manuals and parts list
- Inspects and evaluates the quality of products
- Knowledge on installation, troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Competence to learn the pipe end laser measurement system including operation and output/reporting of laser measurement results
- Conducts tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected
- View gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure Cleverscan machine is working properly, used to work with metric measurements
- Determines what is causing an operating error and decides action to take
- Strong team-player with excellent reporting and interpersonal skills, able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language company
- Able to travel to jobsites when needed
- Demonstrates excellent English language skills, additional languages are a plus
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
