Journeyman Electrician
The Maintenance Electrician will provide the maintenance, repair, and/or installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and lighting systems.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair of control panels, electric motors, and electrical equipment.
- Ability to isolate and repair deficits in wiring, motors, and other electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and motor control centers.
- Bending and installation of rigid or PVC conduit.
- Pulling electrical cables and wires in conduit.
- Ability to utilize voltage and amperage measuring devices.
- Travel from facility to facility to assist in day-to-day operations of each facility.
- Complete work orders for routine repairs, maintenance, and installation of lighting and power circuits in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain various equipment such as switch gear, generators, and lighting systems.
- Assist in maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance of heating, ventilation systems, air condition and refrigeration systems, and equipment.
- Performs other work related to duties as assigned.
- Responds to after-hour emergencies.
- Required to work hand in hand with outside contractors/vendors who are performing work at our site making repairs or servicing existing equipment.
- Required to work with contractors/vendors who are onsite such as security, cleaning staff, and cafeteria personnel.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Computer skills necessary to interface with machinery programs.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication, cooperation, and teamwork with team members and fellow employees.
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ensure all safety and procedures are followed according to company safety policies.
- Experience and ability to repair and maintain high voltage equipment up to 600 volts.
- Working knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, NEC rules, and regulations.
Education and Experience
- 10 years of practical commercial/industrial electrical experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Journeyman’s electrical license.
- Valid driver’s license.
