Our client is currently seeking a Control Rod Drive Test Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity working fully remote, based out of Bellevue, WA.

Overview
This position supports the testing and development of control rod drive mechanisms in a large sodium test facility. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, executing test plans, and supporting system-level design and documentation efforts.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary test engineer for control rod drive mechanism testing, with a focus on test planning and interface design
• Coordinate geographically distributed team members including employees, subcontractors, and partners
• Develop and maintain system and plant-level requirements and specification documents
• Support digital design tools and configuration management processes
• Lead and support design reviews and resolution of cross-functional technical concerns
• Design instrumentation for testing using data acquisition and control systems
• Develop and document test plans, test designs, and procedures for experimental work
• Consolidate inputs from multiple teams into single deliverables
• Facilitate collaboration between design and test engineers, identifying and closing gaps

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of test engineering experience preferred
• Experience working with alkali metals in a lab setting highly desired
• Background in laboratory or industrial environments
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control system integration
• Experience designing and applying experimental hardware and instrumentation
• Proficiency in writing test plans, requirements, and procedures
• Skilled in post-processing and documenting experiments
• Hands-on experience with laboratory practices including glovebox work and analytical methods
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
• Strong analytical skills to develop and plan complex tests with limited inputs
• Knowledge of configuration management and design control tools for complex systems
• Ability to manage competing objectives and design constraints
• Capable of handling multiple concurrent tasks
• Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation skills
• Self-starter with leadership abilities in team coordination
• Nuclear industry experience and familiarity with NQA-1 quality programs preferred
• High integrity, open communication style, and commitment to teamwork
• Final job level and title will be determined based on qualifications assessment
