Welding Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Welding Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Olivette, Missouri.

Overview

The role involves producing high-quality products and services, monitoring production output, and ensuring that products meet customer specifications and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated ability to follow direction, read weld symbols, schematics, and blueprints.
• An ability to select, measure, cut and join appropriate metals to specifications.
• Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
• Regularly clean and inspect welding equipment and tools.
• Safe operation of forklift and all other lift assist and tools.
• Test each assembly to ensure proper fit and function.
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
• Accurately track and log assembly time sheets for each project.
• Properly identify and document QMS and department procedure.
• Maintain work area for cleanliness.
• Adherence to all safety standards and plant rules.
• Test strength of each join during and after project completion.
• Liaise with leadership to report issues and continuously improve processes.
• Utilize tape measures, calipers, squares, micrometers, and protractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical education is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial assembly.
• 1+ year experience in industrial assembly.

Requirements

• Must pass weld test.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 40 pounds.
• Mechanical aptitude, mathematical and problem-solving ability.
• An ability to troubleshoot and multi-task on projects.
• Working knowledge and experience using hand tools.
• MIG Weld 0.045 and 0.035 hard wire.
• TIG Flux Carbon steel, Stainless, and Aluminum.
