Talascend is currently seeking a Sr. Advanced Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Overview

In this role, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency across various industries. Your expertise in systems test engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology and industry solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create test plans, procedures, and reports based on customer environmental requirements and applicable performance standards
  • Avionics testing in accordance with environmental requirements and Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team in solving complex engineering problems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering or test engineering

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Ability to drive results and meet deadlines
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning
  • Experience with quality management systems and processes
  • Experience working with DO-160 and/or Mil-STD environmental requirements
  • Experience evaluating MOPS such as DO-181, DO-185, DO-220, or DO-283
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Test Procedure and Test Report writing experience
  • Self-motivation, ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing project needs
