Production Supervisor

Talascend is currently seeking a Production Supervisor with a leading  automotive manufacturer located in Wyoming, Michigan.

SUMMARY:
The main function of a Production Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The GL will get a handoff from the prior shift to recap the previous shift and understand the condition of all the equipment.
• Responsible for understanding manpower from prior shift and any quality issues.
• Coordinate with engineering and quality regularly.
• Deal with opportunities for down equipment and understand who to escalate and what needs to be improved through that throughput.
• Summarize for the next shift.
• Work on continuous improvement activities tip activities which is throughput improvement process and making sure that they understand the business well enough that they see gaps and start working on things that can close those gaps.

  REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of experience.
  *People with military backgrounds have succeeded well for us in the past.
  • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
  *Heat Treat background or experience is nice to have. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  *Understanding quality tools, problem solving and being able to break down the problem and get to the root cause. 
   

Shift

Monday-Friday, flexible to work either shift. 3rd Shift: 10pm to 6:30am, 2nd Shift: 2pm-10pm. Weekend work will depend on the department, currently working 2 weekends on, 1 weekend off.
