Manufacturing Process Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a leading automotive manufacturer located in Detroit, MI.
SUMMARY:
Designing and implementing manufacturing processes. Launching new vehicle programs. Supporting continuous improvement in production systems. Integrating advanced technologies like automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Optimize the sequence and flow of operations to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
- Oversee equipment build, debug, runoff, and validation phases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- statistical processing control background such as tracking data and trends
- GD&T experience
- Capability studies that is very statistical process and control.
- Expert knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Basic knowledge of tooling processes.
- Basic knowledge of automotive industry processes.
- Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills.
- Shift Mon-Fri. Candidate must be willing to work any shift. No weekend work is required. Weekends could be required later down the road. 1st shift 6am-2:30pm, 2nd shift 2pm-10:30pm, 3rd shift 10pm-6:30am.
