Sr. Material Planner
Talascend is currently seeking a Sr. Material Planner for a contract opportunity with our client in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Overview
The role involves managing supply requirements, building partnerships with suppliers, and ensuring on-time delivery while collaborating with cross-functional teams. It requires data-driven decision support and participation in improvement projects to enhance supply chain effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Create and deploy supply requirements to the supply base via MRP to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives.
- Build and maintain operational partnerships with assigned suppliers.
- Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, challenges, and resolution.
- Work closely with the supplier base to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) performance.
- Proactively communicate with all levels of the organization on material-related issues.
- Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports, and other analyses as needed.
- Provide data-driven decision support through what-if and scenario planning.
- Apply analytics and supply chain expertise to manage system parameters and meet inventory goals.
- Work closely with Purchasing Global Supply team to improve supplier performance.
- Support new product roll out by assisting in establishing the supply chain effectivity date.
- Participate and lead improvement projects that deliver benefits to the organization.
- Review inventory levels and modify orders for stock replenishment.
- Track metrics on assigned activities to drive results and continuous improvements.
- Lead meetings related to part shortages, supplier constraints, and planning.
- Handle other projects or assignments as needed.
- Direct and support the allocation of resources for material handling responsibilities.
- Hold employees accountable for following processes and metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Supply Chain
- Minimum 2 years of Material Planning experience in an automotive or volume manufacturing environment
- One or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Requirements
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
- Must be able to analyze, evaluate and react to issues affecting the manufacturing schedule.
- Strong knowledge of MRP processes; SAP experience, with understanding of discrete manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to present clear recommendations.
- Demonstrate skills in supplier operational and relationship management.
- Passionate and high energy, with the diplomacy necessary to positively influence others.
- Ability to write, speak and present effectively and persuasively.
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability are key.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to develop result-driven data, lead meetings, and create presentations.
- Travel may be required.

8:30am-5:30pm MST, Mon-Fri (OT as needed), Onsite
