Plant Design Integration Engineer
OVERVIEW:
Our client is seeking a Contractor to provide the following services: The Plant Integration Engineer- Contract supports the integration, oversight, and coordination of nuclear island plant design with ongoing licensing and configuration management efforts. In this role, you will support, and report to the Plant Design Products or Plant Design Programs managers.
The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative design and regulatory support and oversight for the nuclear plant. This individual will collaborate with design engineering disciplines, licensing, safety analysis, and PRA to develop plans, strategies, processes, and plant level design deliverables. The Plant Integration Engineer- Contract will work as part of a high performing team of engineers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with a geographically diverse set of team members, including those in partner organizations, to develop nuclear island plant integration deliverables with a focus on ongoing design engineering, licensing, and configuration management efforts.
- Provides support for activities led by other departments, including licensing, design engineering, safety analysis, and PRA.
- Develops plant level integration design deliverables in collaboration with plant design departments, including licensing, safety analysis, and PRA. Deliverables include plans, strategies, discipline design documents, plant level design basis documents, and processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful candidate should have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in nuclear facility design or operation that includes experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Plant or systems engineering.
- Design engineering.
- Fire Protection.
- Operations.
- Reactor Engineering.
- The successful candidate should have a minimum of a BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline like nuclear, chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or a Senior Reactor Operators license or equivalent.
- The successful candidate should demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- The successful candidate should have a working understanding of NRC regulations and associated guidance. Prior interaction with the NRC staff is desirable.
- The successful candidate will display leadership skills by proactively driving cross functional design, licensing, safety analysis, and PRA collaboration and integration.
- The candidate must be team oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed and design team members.
- This position requires the candidate to be conversant across a wide variety of engineering disciplines, programs, and processes as well as interfacing organizations (Licensing, Operations, Procurement, Construction, Document Control).
- The candidate should demonstrate the ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate should demonstrate the ability to organize information to convey it to other disciplines and organizations.
- The candidate should demonstrate the ability to be innovative.
- The successful candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey critical design integration information to the management team, the engineering and licensing team, customers etc.
- The candidate should be able to work in a conceptual design and first of a kind environment that requires the ability to use good engineering judgement and identify deliverables and processes to achieve key project objectives.
- The candidate should have experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
- The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.
