Software Development Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
The role involves software development with a solid foundation in C, C++, Python, and LabWindows/CVI, along with leading software teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering discipline
- 7 years of related experience
Requirements
- Experience in software development with a solid foundation in C, C++, Python, LabWindows/CVI
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) as well as multithreaded environments and embedded systems desired
- Experience with creating technical documents and developing software requirements from customer inputs along with experience in DO-178B/ DO-178C certification
- Experience with hardware/software integration, and working knowledge of general purpose test equipment is desirable
- Experience in ClearCase/ClearQuest, DOORS, BITBUCKET
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly so that it may be understood by both technical and non-technical individuals
- Ability to move into new teams and quickly learn project defined specific process while applying past knowledge and experience; adapt well to a changing environment, anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers
- Ability to apply technical concepts to specific tasks and to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to break a complex problem into manageable parts and organize an approach and a solution in a systematic way
- Ability to work with cross-functional disciplines (hardware, software, systems) in a team environment, possess good people skills and have the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels
- Skilled at developing/integrating new ideas, optimizing alternatives & establishing backup plan
- Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude; highly motivated individual with the ability to self-start, prioritize, and multi-task
