Talascend is currently seeking an Auto Body & Paint Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Allen Park, Michigan.

Overview

The role involves surfacing prototype automotive components and vehicles while working with a variety of materials to meet customer needs. Attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations are crucial for maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Surfacing prototype automotive components and vehicles
  • Working with a variety of materials to meet customer needs
  • Paying close attention to details and procedures to maintain high quality standards for painted parts
  • Reading hazard labels and other required information
  • Distinguishing colors
  • Reading, understanding and complying with safety rules and regulations
  • Operating industrial pneumatic equipment (openers, crusher, mixers, etc)
  • Operating manual and power tools (drills, hammers, screwdrivers, ratchets, wrenches, etc)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the Autobody/Paint field

Requirements

  • Must have own tools and rolling lockable tool box
  • Must have strong attention to detail as an Auto Body & Paint Technician
  • Willing to travel between buildings
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Lift at least 60 pounds without assistance
  • Work in a physically-demanding, fast-paced, wet environment for 6-8 hours per day
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment daily, including coveralls, safety glasses or goggles, and gloves
  • May be exposed daily to contaminants, such as fumes from paint and solvents
  • May be exposed to hazardous tools, equipment, and situations
  • May be exposed to noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable
  • Must often work in cramped places that require getting into awkward positions

Preferred Requirements

  • Gap and Margin experience with automotive panels for Show Car quality
  • Body Shop ability for detail panel surfacing
  • Show Car painting experience

Shift: 4:00 pm - 12:00 am

Must be available to work overtime/weekends when needed.
