Sr. Design Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Sr. Design Engineer located in Phoenix, Arizona.
OVERVIEW
The focus of this role is generator design which includes layout and design of the internal components and housings, and will also support gearbox design programs on occasion. The primary functions are to create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Interact closely with project engineers and design teams to meet project deliverables and milestones.
- Understand and adhere to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing practices.
- Act with speed and accuracy for on-time execution.
- Apply six sigma thought processes and tools.
- Listen to internal customers' needs and support the team in reducing cycle time and improving quality of deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design with NX design tool including modeling and drafting
- Competent with Teamcenter document managing and NX modeling (Component, Assemblies, Drawings)
- High speed rotating machine design
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts
- Tolerance stack up analysis
- Experience defining and interpreting GD&T
- Prior experience as a systems design lead
- Must be a US Citizen due to ITAR restrictions
