Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Overview
The role involves ensuring that all manufactured parts and assemblies meet precise dimensional specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in dimensional measurement, quality control processes, and the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and other design documents to ensure proper measurements and tolerances are understood and adhered to in the production process.
- Understand how fixtures integrate with other manufacturing equipment, robots, conveyors, and tools, ensuring smooth operation across the assembly line.
- Design fixtures that align with the assembly line’s process flow, ensuring they’re easy to use for operators and don’t create bottlenecks.
- Work with cross-functional teams to recommend, evaluate and make design and process improvement proposals.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and engineering teams to provide technical input on design feasibility, manufacturability, and dimensional considerations.
- Interpret and apply GD&T standards to fixture design, ensuring that parts fit and function according to precise dimensional specifications.
- Evaluate and minimize tolerance stack-ups in the fixture design, which can affect the final assembly’s quality and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, STEM or related field, or equivalent relevant education
- 5 overall years of experience in the field
- Minimum 5 years experience with strong level GD&T qualification
- Minimum 5 years experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Minimum 5 years experience with strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy
Requirements
- Ability to cross-collaborate and provide innovative thinking and ideas.
- Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and quality of work.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members, management, and external vendors.
- Certification in dimensional measurement or quality control (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma) is preferred.
- Experience with advanced metrology tools and techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other quality management systems is preferred.
- Candidates not local to Arizona & do not have hard skill requirements will be disqualified.
Shift
100% onsite at either Tempe or Casa Grand HQ, M-F 40 hrs/week - NO OT
