Database Management System Specialist
Talascend is currently seeking a Database Management System Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.
Clearance
US Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance is required
Active Public Trust preferred
Overview
This role is responsible for performing tasks relating to database management system applications, including definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.
Responsibilities
- Entering and reviewing data within the database
- Ensuring user data integrity
- Maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries
- Recovery and back-up procedures
- Making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements
Qualifications
- Typically requires BS degree and 8 to 12 years of prior relevant experience
- Masters with 6 to 10 years of prior relevant experience
- May possess a Doctorate in technical domain
- Expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
- Ability to develop solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines
- Ability to communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members
- Ability to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches
