Software Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.
Overview
This role is responsible for performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products.
Responsibilities
- Software requirements analysis
- Analysis of hardware compatibility
- Development of software products and tools used for design, development and maintenance of infrastructure and platforms
- Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables
- Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area
- Typically responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff
- Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts
- Communicates with internal and client project team members
- Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches
Qualifications
- Typically requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience
- Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience
Requirements
- Applies appropriate principles, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle
- Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge
- Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain
- Has broad understanding of other related specialty areas
