Talascend is currently seeking a Security Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.

Overview

This role involves designing, developing, or recommending integrated security systems and physical control solutions to protect proprietary and confidential data and systems. The position provides technical engineering services to manage information-related risks and participates in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.

Responsibilities

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
  • Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
  • Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s).
  • Provides guidance to others to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • May interact with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent and 8+ years related experience

Requirements

  • Having complete knowledge of this field and is able to handle seldom and unusual occurring job events.
  • Ability to complete complex and difficult assignments.
  • May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to nonexempt personnel.
  • Knowledge of assigned product(s), company functions, service policies and procedures and good communication skills.
