Plant Operator/Stationary Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Plant Operator/Stationary Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Clinton Township, New Jersey.
Overview
The role involves operating and maintaining equipment within a team environment, ensuring professionalism while meeting client needs and achieving 100% uptime. The operator will implement and manage reliability-based maintenance functions and execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment within a team environment.
- Ensure the highest level of professionalism while meeting the clients’ needs.
- Protect and improve the value of the client’s assets and ensure that building engineering systems continue to perform their intended function.
- Implement and manage the reliability-based maintenance function.
- Execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs.
- Define and implement maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime.
- Continuously evaluate current maintenance, operations and reliability methods and implement changes to enhance effectiveness.
- Assume full responsibility for the safe and efficient operating, monitoring, and maintaining of a central utilities plant and building automation system.
- Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities.
- Ensure the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building.
- Oversee the activities of contractors working within the building.
- Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate remediation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines.
- Develop procedures and operating plans.
- Provide training and support aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum Blue Seal Stationary Engineer License issued by the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Industry.
- Must be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalence certificate.
Requirements
- Will be required to lift 50 lbs.
- Climb ladders/scaffolding, bend/twist body, and stand for long periods of time.
- Will be required to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Shift
M-F, 7am-3:30pm
