Water Treatment Plant Operator
Talascend is currently seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Clinton Township, New Jersey.
Overview
The Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment within a team environment, ensuring professionalism while meeting client needs, and protecting and improving the value of client assets.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment within a team environment.
- Execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs.
- Define and implement maintenance best practices to improve overall mechanical equipment uptime.
- Continuously evaluate current maintenance, operations, and reliability methods and implement changes to enhance effectiveness.
- Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results and equipment malfunctions.
- Oversee the activities of contractors working within the Water treatment plant.
- Identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines.
- Develop procedures and operating plans.
- Provide training and support aimed at expanding the capabilities of the staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum N-1 water license issued by the state of NJ
- Must be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalence certificate
Requirements
- Must lift 50 lbs., climb ladders/scaffolding, bend/twist body, and stand for long periods of time.
- Will be required to satisfactorily complete training courses and state licensing requirements.
- Must be able to assist lower or higher classified personnel and perform any assignment safely.
Shift
M-F, 7am-3:30pm; may be required to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
