Talascend is currently seeking an experienced Conveyor Mechanical Installer for a contract opportunity in Cedar Rapids IA.

OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience installing roller conveyor systems and be comfortable working in industrial and warehouse environments. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, assemble, align, and level roller conveyor systems according to drawings and specifications.
  • Perform mechanical installation of conveyor frames, rollers, supports, guards, and related components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to ensure accurate installation.
  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely during installation activities.
  • Read and interpret layout drawings, blueprints, and installation plans.
  • Follow all site-specific safety rules and company procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a conveyor installer or mechanical installer.
  • Proven experience installing roller conveyor systems.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and lift materials as required.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to job sites locally.
  • Valid Forklift Certification preferred.
  • Valid Scissor Lift Certification preferred.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in industrial or distribution center environments preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work on elevated platforms for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors depending on job site conditions.
