Talascend is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Mason, Ohio.

Overview

This role involves supporting the design and development of mechanical and structural components used in conveyor and material handling equipment systems, with a focus on structural analysis, steel design, and CAD modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing structural design requirements and specifications.
  • Support the design of header hanger steel and other structural components for material handling equipment systems.
  • Create and update CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Perform basic structural calculations and assist with analysis tasks under guidance.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross functional team meetings.
  • Help ensure designs meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Learn and stay current with relevant industry standards, tools, and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil, or related field).

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of structural or mechanical design principles.
  • Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Basic analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast paced engineering environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Coursework, projects, or internships involving structural or steel design.
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as STAAD Pro or similar software.
  • Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interest in conveyor or industrial automation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and desire to continuously improve.

Shift

Day shift, 8am - 5pm, hybrid schedule with onsite work Monday-Friday for the first 90 days.
