Talascend is currently seeking a HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Highland Heights, Ohio.

Overview

This role involves operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and safety. The technician will perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to support the operational integrity of the property’s systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities
  • Perform inspections and repairs on interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting
  • Conduct ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility systems and components
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building repairs
  • Perform facility inspections and report on conditions impacting occupancy and operations
  • Complete safety trainings and hazard assessments as scheduled
  • Follow safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize and address safety hazards
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ordinances, codes, and laws
  • Update work order status in real-time using CMMS system
  • Attend work and safety meetings as required
  • Perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, working overhead, and working in adverse conditions
  • Work from heights up to 30 ft., carrying tools and equipment as needed
  • Be available for call-in work and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of system design and applications
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience leading or supervising a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CMMS
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC

Shift

Standard business hours (7 am to 3:30 pm) with on-call rotation.
