Talascend is currently seeking a Business Analyst for a contract opportunity with our client in Windsor, Connecticut.

Overview

This role involves leading requirement gathering, analyzing systems and processes, and acting as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders within a national accounts division. The Business Analyst will focus on business process improvement, documentation, and collaboration to ensure technical solutions align with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement
  • Assist business stakeholders with scoping, business case development, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Elicit, document, and validate system requirements, enhancements, and updates independently
  • Lead requirements workshops or interviews with business stakeholders
  • Create user stories and business requirements documents (BRD)
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into system solutions
  • Participate in and provide analysis shaping scope, requirements, development estimates, and system designs
  • Partner with IT architects and developers on architecture, design, and data models
  • Track traceability of functional and technical specifications to requirements
  • Act as key interface between business stakeholders, users, and IT teams
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and demos for stakeholders
  • Assist in creating strategic roadmaps and managing deliverables and backlog grooming
  • Communicate changes and enhancements to developers, sponsors, and stakeholders
  • Participate in testing, review test scenarios, and assess defect severity
  • Validate releases with quality engineering teams and support UAT for business stakeholders
  • Manage documentation repositories and project documentation
  • Review progress, evaluate accuracy, and conduct project scoping and planning
  • Display analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (accredited) in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • 7+ years experience as a digital/IT business analyst
  • Experience with swimlane diagramming and process modeling
  • Knowledge of agile, BABOK, and waterfall methodologies
  • Requirement elicitation for core technology and internal applications projects
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence
  • CCBA or CBAP certification
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Basic SQL skills, experience with entity relationship diagrams and data mapping

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with process modeling tools and techniques
  • Additional data analysis or project management certifications
