Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Overview
The maintenance technician supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in assigned facilities. The role involves performing both routine and independent maintenance tasks, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in various building systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lighting systems, including bulbs and ballasts
- Assist the operations team with building and equipment maintenance and repairs
- Perform general interior maintenance such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs
- Complete special tasks like painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and other maintenance as assigned
- Move office furniture, machinery, and other materials as requested
- Conduct facility inspections and report conditions affecting client occupancy and operations
- Be on call for after-hours emergencies
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Ensure compliance with all relevant ordinances, codes, and laws
- Participate in technical, safety, and operational training programs
- Document work performance and materials procurement
- Lift a minimum of 80 lbs., climb ladders up to 30 ft, and use necessary tools with mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Frequently climb, bend, kneel, and drive
- Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Work independently or as part of a team in a self-motivated manner
- Perform other operational tasks as required of the maintenance mechanic role
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
- Valid state driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an applicable technical training program
Shift
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with flexible scheduling. The role requires being on call for after-hours emergencies.
