Quality Assurance Analyst
Talascend is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for an opportunity in Houston, Texas.
Overview
This role involves conducting complex quality assurance tests and analysis to ensure software meets or exceeds standards and end-user requirements. The analyst will perform advanced development and execution of test cases, handle intricate QA issues, and collaborate with IT staff to resolve problems.
Responsibilities
- Handle complex or ambiguous quality assurance issues and work with internal IT staff to determine resolutions.
- Draft and revise complex testing documentation, including plans, conditions, and scripts.
- Execute advanced tests according to established plans and scripts, document problems, and retest software corrections.
- Plan and schedule user acceptance, alpha, and beta testing schedules.
- Create test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study.
- 3-5 years of previous experience required.
- An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
- Advance SQL, DBT, AWS Glue, Snowflake, API development, Data Modeling.
- Great communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience in QA testing, system design, and analysis, including developing QA plans and test cases.
- Knowledge of QA methodologies, procedures, and documentation.
- Experience with Quality Center software processes and Quick Test Pro (QTP) automation.
- Project management and training skills.
- Proficiency with query tools, SQL, and Toad.
- Understanding of project risk from a quality perspective and general business operations.
- Experience with various databases and technologies such as Peoplesoft, AS400, Visual Basic, web applications, Cloud Computing, CRM, SalesForce, ETL, Informatica, GIS, GPS, ESP, and other reporting tools.
- Ability to oversee functional business process and technical testing services from initiation to implementation.
