Certified Welding Inspector
Talascend is currently seeking a Certified Welding Inspector/ Quality Inspection Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Mobile, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves performing inspection activities on low criticality materials to ensure supply conformity with contractual requirements during the purchase order execution. The inspector verifies manufacturing quality and delivery schedules, conducts inspections, and supervises supplier quality control activities.
Responsibilities
- Verify supply conformity against contractual requirements during purchase order execution in terms of delivery date and manufacturing quality
- Perform inspection visits and issue project deliverables such as inspection reports, release notes, non-conformity reports, and follow-up sheets
- Ensure all necessary information, documentation, and drawings are provided to the supplier as per manufacturing schedule
- Conduct shop surveys for new supplier evaluations as required
- Supervise supplier quality control activities and overall production schedules
- Contribute to the preparation of supplier and third-party agency performance evaluations
- Execute inspections autonomously under limited supervision for low criticality materials
Qualifications
- CWI certification required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 to 7 years of experience in inspection or quality control roles
- Technical diploma or relevant degree preferred
