Logistics Analyst
Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Santa Ana, California.
Overview
The role involves monitoring and analyzing operational and financial indexes within a logistics environment, supporting supply chain coordination, and investigating claims to ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze key operational and financial indexes regularly.
- Find root causes for discrepancies between actual performance and forecasts.
- Analyze issues, prepare reports, and recommend actions as requested by team leadership.
- Investigate claim requests to determine validity.
- Communicate with vendors to recover on claims.
- Gather and analyze claims-related documentation.
- Support the preparation of ad-hoc reports.
- Examine documents, materials, and products to assess completeness and accuracy.
- Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine resource requirements.
- Record production data including volume, raw material consumption, and quality control measures.
- Revise production schedules as needed due to design changes or resource shortages.
- Distribute schedules and work orders to relevant departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, economics, business, finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in planning, risk management, or finance within a logistics environment (preferred).
- Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or within cross-functional teams.
- Experience with SAP and supply chain management or financial planning systems (highly desired).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PPT.
- Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing or working with enterprise planning or financial systems.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
