Reliability Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity with our client in Calvert, Alabama.
Overview
The reliability engineer will provide engineering support through reliability processes within a highly automated business unit, ensuring equipment performance and meeting business goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for the maintenance team.
- Subject matter expert for reliability engineering practices.
- Initiate and facilitate root cause analysis of equipment failures and major breakdowns.
- Identify and propose solutions for repeat equipment failures and unplanned downtime events.
- Participate in execution of critical equipment inspections and analysis.
- Analyze equipment data, recommend maintenance plans, review drawings and technical documentation.
- Write technically based equipment maintenance plans.
- Perform tracking and trending of equipment maintenance performance.
- Demonstrate the company values of safety, teamwork, accountability, relationships, and sustainability.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment, and fulfill quality commitments.
- Foster an environment of trust and respect to promote teamwork.
- Maintain knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and ISO 17025.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience (strongly preferred).
- Ability to perform data analysis on equipment performance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in RCM practices (Reliability Centered Maintenance).
- PdM certification or qualification (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, tribology, motor circuit analysis).
- SolidWorks/AutoCAD working knowledge.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Familiarity with RCFA, cause mapping, and kaizen problem solving methodologies.
- Proficiency in writing technical proposals and communications at multiple organizational levels.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to facilitate and lead meetings effectively.
- Logical and critical thinking mindset.
- Ability to adapt and lead change.
- Focus on continuous improvement.
