Quality Inspector
Talascend is currently seeking a Quality Inspector for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.
Overview
The role involves performing manual visual inspections of final products, operating basic equipment, and supporting quality standards within a manufacturing environment. The inspector will follow detailed instructions to ensure product quality and safety, while assisting with equipment installation and maintenance as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual visual inspection of the final product, checking for flaws or nonconformities based on established criteria.
- Operate basic equipment and carry out routine tasks following detailed instructions.
- Carry out operational tasks such as sampling, labeling, and final packaging of finished products.
- Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and appliances following strict procedures.
- Support the quality function by adhering to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Follow mandatory work instructions and use personal protective equipment appropriately.
- Document detailed numerical data and communicate effectively using elementary verbal skills.
- Work under supervision to develop understanding of policies, identify risks, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Documentation of 20/20 near visual acuity or better (i.e., 20/14).
- No color blindness.
- Physically able to sit or stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions with short breaks.
- Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Ability to record data legibly and perform basic math operations.
- Effective elementary verbal communication skills under supervision.
- Ability to work with guidance to understand policies and assess risks at an elementary level.
- Able to motivate and develop team members under supervision to achieve organizational goals.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable rules and regulations under supervision.
