Wire Harness Quality Inspector
Talascend is currently seeking a Wire Harness Quality Inspector for an opportunity in Allen Park, Michigan.
Overview
The wire harness quality inspector will support quality assurance operations for wire harness and cable assembly production, ensuring products meet all quality and customer requirements through inspection and verification.
Responsibilities
- Inspect wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and related products for quality, workmanship, and compliance with customer specifications
- Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections using hand tools and inspection equipment
- Verify proper wire routing, crimps, terminations, labeling, continuity, connector installation, and overall harness build quality
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications
- Accurately document inspection results, non-conformances, and quality records
- Accept or reject finished products and properly identify nonconforming material
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues
- Recommend process improvements to improve product quality and reduce defects
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement and corrective action activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of experience quality checking wire harnesses and cable assemblies
- Strong understanding of harness assembly workmanship standards and inspection processes
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings
- Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects accurately
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Proficient computer skills including microsoft office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
