Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Overview

This role involves operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple sites, with a focus on mechanical building operations including HVAC and plumbing. The position requires technical expertise and flexibility to work across different types of sites and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems for multiple facilities.
  • Travel between various facilities to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventive maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
  • Inspect, calibrate, and service HVAC systems and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Record readings and adjust equipment as necessary for proper operation.
  • Follow safety procedures for storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Conduct periodic checks of tools and inventory stock.
  • Oversee the quality and pricing of work performed by outside contractors.
  • Identify hazards and safety risks, and propose methods to eliminate them.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification.
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
