Research & Development Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Research & Development Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Overview
This role involves conducting research and development activities related to vacuum systems and gas management, with an emphasis on experimental work, summarizing research findings, and communicating results effectively. The position offers potential for full-time employment based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development activities on vacuum systems and gas management
- Apply research theories, principles, and models during experiments
- Summarize research results and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and direct the work of others as needed
- Perform a variety of complex tasks relying on experience and judgment
Qualifications
- Graduate degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in vacuum systems and gas management or related field
- Familiarity with research practices, experimental design, and analysis
- Ability to plan and accomplish research objectives using sound judgment
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity
- Experience leading or supervising team members
