Plant Integration Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Plant Integration Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
Overview
This role involves supporting the integration, oversight, and coordination of process and mechanical systems within a plant environment, focusing on energy island and nuclear island systems, including heat transfer, energy storage, steam, and power systems. The engineer will work collaboratively within a high-performing, geographically diverse team to ensure technical accuracy and seamless system integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide integration and oversight to team members to develop energy island system deliverables
- Support development of molten salt heat transfer, thermal energy storage, steam, power, and auxiliary system components in the plant 3D model
- Work closely with partners or architect/engineer firms to establish and control system interfaces
- Support interface with other plant design departments, including plant 3D model development and integrated analysis
- Drive cross-functional design collaboration and integration of systems, structures, and components
- Review deliverables for technical accuracy
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in nuclear power plant, commercial power plant, or process industries (oil and gas, refining, chemicals)
- Experience with systems and equipment for power generation or process fluid systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in conceptual design and first-of-a-kind environments using good engineering judgment
- Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed and international team members
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to foster teamwork
