Talascend is currently seeking a Flight Management Systems Software Developer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

Overview

This role involves designing, developing, and integrating software for flight management systems, with a focus on creating innovative solutions for avionics applications. The candidate will work in a dynamic environment supporting various functional areas of flight management software.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing high-quality core software architecture and applications
  • Integrating flight management software for new product development
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
  • Implementing software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
  • Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members
  • Testing and integrating software on test benches in labs
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience in flight management systems
  • Strong C++ or object-oriented programming skills
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
  • Strong software architecture and design development skills
  • Experience with software verification and validation using C++
  • Strong analytical and software development skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
