Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Springfield, Virginia.
Overview
This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in various facilities. The technician ensures energy-efficient and safe operation, minimizes downtime, and performs regular inspections and repairs to support optimal building performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other systems
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing systems, and related building components
- Study and become familiar with equipment and proper usage methods
- Conduct facility inspections, reporting on conditions affecting operations and occupancy
- Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order statuses in real time
- Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all maintenance work
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems and associated equipment
- Perform call-in work and other duties as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of system design and applications in commercial environments
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration
- Valid state driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
