Talascend is currently seeking an Electromechanical Assembler for a contract opportunity with our client in Sterling, Virginia.
Overview
The role involves performing a variety of tasks in production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. The position requires working from diagrams and drawings, utilizing hand and power tools, and conducting quality inspections when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive to non-repetitive assembly tasks on electronic and mechanical components.
- Work from diagrams and drawings, creating initial layouts and using hand and power tools.
- Follow methods and sequences of operations for wiring, component installation, soldering, and cable harnessing.
- Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies.
- Assist the supervisor with daily activities of all electronic and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Interact with supervisor, peers, and customers, providing factual information as needed.
- May serve in a lead role and provide training to others.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of related experience in electromechanical assembly.
- Ability to follow diagrams and drawings accurately.
- Comfortability working with hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform quality checks and troubleshoot assemblies.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
