Talascend is currently seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler for a contract opportunity with our client in Vista, California.

Overview

The electro-mechanical assembler is responsible for rapidly manufacturing sub-assemblies and finished systems, including assembly, disassembly, and packaging of medium to large systems. The role involves working in an industrial environment on a warehouse or production floor, utilizing machinery and tools to support various assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble cables, panels, enclosures, and other medium to large assembly types
  • Operate test vehicles during testing of systems
  • Operate forklift, scissor lift, and other machinery during assembly process
  • Work with and around X-ray systems
  • Handle and work with lead components
  • Assist with testing and troubleshooting of final systems
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and schematics
  • Install components and devices per assembly documentation
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools
  • Use measuring tools such as multi-meters, continuity checkers, and tape measures to verify product conformity
  • Provide feedback and suggest improvements for assembly processes
  • Complete build records and documentation
  • Conduct quality checks on own work and perform buddy checks on others’ work
  • Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization using 5S methodologies
  • Follow manufacturing guidelines, procedures, and company policies
  • Participate in cross-training activities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or research and development
  • High school diploma
  • ESD awareness
  • Basic computer skills for daily tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with terminal crimping, panel wiring, and soldering (3-5 years preferred)

The work schedule is typically 5/40 hours, with potential for overtime including weekends, and a shift from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.
