Talascend is currently seeking an Assembly & Test Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Overview

This role involves performing assembly and testing processes on sophisticated electromechanical and electro-hydraulic control systems for aircraft and helicopter engines at a manufacturing facility. The position requires technical, mechanical, and computer skills, with a focus on quality and safety in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard assembly and testing on a variety of equipment using electronic work instructions, blueprints, and specifications
  • Use precision tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment to inspect and calibrate components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and quality procedures
  • Inspect parts and products for quality and detect faulty operation or materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in a timely manner
  • Maintain work areas and tools according to Visual Management and 5S standards
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in daily Tier meetings and continuous improvement activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Work overtime, including weekends, as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly and test instructions and interpret blueprints/drawings
  • Experience with precision measuring devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers
  • Ability to work with hand tools of different types
  • Basic computer skills, including navigating internet and MS Office
  • Intermediate math skills
  • 3-6 years of manufacturing experience in related areas preferred
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift over 30 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks
  • Awareness of safety procedures related to exposure to machinery, chemicals, and physical risks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in manufacturing assembly or testing
  • North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness certificate, Silver or Gold preferred
  • Six Sigma training or certification
  • Associates degree
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and team communication
  • Knowledge and adherence to 5-S principles
  • Experience participating in continuous manufacturing improvement activities
