CNC Machining Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Machining Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
The role involves operating and setting up CNC equipment to produce and assemble metal parts according to blueprints and design specifications. The technician will ensure parts meet tolerance levels and may be required to meet specific certifications based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC lathes or mills to manufacture precision parts
- Configure and bore jaws to hold runout tolerances on CNC lathes
- Set up and run production on CNC mills including first article inspection
- Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts utilizing mechanical equipment
- Use blueprints and design sketches to verify dimensions and tolerance levels
- Work under immediate supervision, following instructions and pre-established guidelines
- Perform lifting exceeding 30 lbs. and handle repetitive physical tasks with safety precautions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in CNC machining or setup
- Experience with CNC lathes including setting up and boring jaws to tolerances
- Experience with CNC mills including setup, operation, and first article inspection
- Knowledge of blueprints, design sketches, and measurement techniques
- Ability to work in an environment with physical risks and machine operation
