CNC Machinist
Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Machinist for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
The role involves operating and setting up CNC lathes and mills to produce metal parts according to specifications, using blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes and mills, including setting up and running production.
- Set up and bore jaws to hold runout tolerances.
- Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.
- Assemble parts into sub-units or complete units.
- Use blueprints and design sketches to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- At least 2-4 years of experience working with CNC machines.
- Experience with CNC lathes, including setting up and boring jaws, or CNC mills, including setup and first article inspection.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines, working under immediate supervision.
