Quality Inspector
Talascend is currently seeking a Quality Inspector for a contract opportunity with our client in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Overview
This role involves inspecting machined workpieces to ensure they meet specified quality standards and customer requirements. The inspector will interpret inspection instructions, measure dimensions accurately, and complete inspection reports to support quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Inspect machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
- Interpret and follow written inspection instructions, quality requirements, and customer specifications
- Measure dimensions such as length, height, and distance using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, X-Y-Z measuring equipment, and X-ray inspection methods
- Locate reference points on parts and measure angles, arcs, and radii using aids such as surface plates, angle plates, parallel bars, gauge blocks, V-blocks, and other precision measuring instruments
- Complete all necessary inspection forms and reports
- Inspect first run, in-process, and final parts
- Perform airflow tests, incoming, and final inspections
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work occasional weekend shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and is only for U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals such as refugees and asylees). Proof of status will be required prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation
- Experience in manufacturing preferred
- Reading comprehension skills to understand work-related documents
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for multiple assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with computerized shop floor tools
- Strong team player with flexibility to work in different areas
This is a standard first shift role working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
