Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in New Albany, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves performing skilled electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to support biopharmaceutical operations, with a focus on electrical systems, utilities, and GMP-regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, motors, VFDs, controllers, control panels, UPS systems, and generators
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical assets according to work orders and SOPs
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and electrical service calls, including after-hours support
- Support electrical systems serving GMP manufacturing, labs, warehouses, and cleanroom environments
- Execute work in compliance with GMP, GxP, and data integrity requirements
- Maintain proper documentation for electrical work in regulated spaces
- Participate in shutdowns, commissioning activities, and system testing
- Follow OSHA, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and site safety standards
- Perform Lockout/Tagout, arc flash safety practices, and job hazard analyses
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal electrical codes
- Support safety programs, audits, and inspections
- Document work performed within CMMS systems, update labels and panels, and communicate issues and opportunities to site leadership
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, safety, and operations teams, and assist with vendor oversight and contractor management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Experience working with electrical distribution systems and controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams
- Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and NFPA standards
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS systems
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, GMP, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting critical facilities, laboratories, or cleanrooms
- Familiarity with UPS, generators, ATS, and emergency power systems
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working within a structured IFM or corporate facilities environment
Shift
The work schedule involves 12-hour shifts from 6:00pm to 6:30am, Sunday through Tuesday, and every other Wednesday.
