Talascend is currently seeking a Corporate Expediting Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Reston, Virginia.
Overview
This role involves providing corporate functional leadership across the company’s global business units, focusing on influencing business decisions that enhance supplier performance, delivery predictability, and project schedule outcomes within the expediting domain.
Responsibilities
- Provide corporate direction for expediting practices, expectations, and standards across business units
- Use expediting engagement to improve supplier accountability, delivery discipline, and recovery execution
- Anticipate schedule threats, identify late-delivery trends, and drive early interventions
- Convert supplier performance data, workload forecasts, and metrics into actionable business insights
- Align procurement, supplier quality, logistics, project controls, and project teams on shared delivery outcomes
- Facilitate alignment and engagement between project expediting and supplier quality teams
- Communicate risks, priorities, and recommendations to leadership
- Plan staffing, training, and competency development based on project demand and supplier risk
- Establish consistent processes, escalation paths, dashboards, and accountability mechanisms
- Guide supplier recovery strategies, prioritize critical interventions, and support issue resolution
- Understand how supplier commitments and purchase order terms influence delivery
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from a reputed university
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant industry experience in expediting, supply chain, or management activities
- Extensive experience on complex projects such as Pre-FEED / FEED / EPC
- Experience in leadership roles, data analytics, budget estimation, and technical procedures
- Expertise with Power BI, SQL, Minitab, SAS, and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
