Talascend is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Tempe, Arizona.
Overview
This role involves sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating materials, equipment, and services from approved vendors while ensuring compliance with government regulations such as FAR/DFARS. The position requires evaluating supplier capabilities, pricing, and performance to secure the best value.
Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies and government regulations (FAR/DFARS)
- Analyze vendor quotes, proposals, and service offerings to identify the most cost-effective and compliant solutions
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal value
- Maintain and strengthen supplier relationships to support quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing
- Ensure procurement activities follow established procedures, internal controls, and compliance standards
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Working knowledge of government procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS)
- Ability to follow established processes and operate effectively under supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
- Analytical, data-driven approach to decision-making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
