Talascend is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Urbana, Ohio.
Overview
This role involves managing and executing strategic procurement activities within the organization, overseeing complex projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize supply chain processes and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and supplier diversity.
- Oversee and manage complex procurement projects from initiation to completion, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and delivery.
- Provide guidance to a team of procurement professionals to ensure successful project execution.
- Foster and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure a reliable and responsive supply chain.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations, compliance standards, and internal policies, maintaining organized records.
- Establish and enforce quality control standards in procurement processes, conducting regular inspections and assessments.
- Leverage technology solutions, such as procurement software and analytics, to enhance processes, monitoring, and reporting.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement and project management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex procurement projects.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
