Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Tallahassee, Florida.
Overview
This role involves operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple sites, requiring technical expertise in HVAC systems and related trades.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitor repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems to ensure proper operation and standards compliance.
- Travel between multiple facilities to ensure their proper functioning.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.
- Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, calibration, and part replacements to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Record readings and adjust equipment as necessary for proper operation.
- Follow safety procedures for hazardous materials, maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Conduct periodic checks of tool and inventory supplies.
- Monitor the quality and costs of work performed by outside contractors.
- Adhere to all safety standards and identify hazards to eliminate safety risks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Ability to analyze various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and determine corrective actions.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
