Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical and Robotics Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
Overview
This role involves supporting the operations maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems, with opportunities to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. The technician will also mentor junior staff and develop technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays
- Maintain positive working relationships across all facility operations
- Track and store department inventory
- Move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Possibly travel up to 20% at a minimum
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays
- 1 year of experience in PC competency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
