Talascend is currently seeking a Turbine Qualification Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Greenville, South Carolina.
Overview
This role involves managing qualification standards, overseeing equipment purchases and installations, and leading qualification processes from inception to closure. The position requires strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Create qualification standards aligned with global supply chain and engineering
- Manage dates and scope for equipment purchases, installation, and qualification
- Lead qualification activities from inception to closure, including parts and special processes
- Apply design and manufacturing knowledge to enhance qualification processes, reduce costs, and add value
- Identify and implement qualification cost reduction opportunities
- Provide shop support regionally and globally
- Cultivate a positive working environment and drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 6+ years of turbine engineering and/or manufacturing experience
- Program management experience
- Strong team player
- Well versed in lean manufacturing methods
- Experience interfacing across matrix organizations
- Good negotiation skills
- Ability to build trust with team members and interfacing organizations
- Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes
- Customer satisfaction mindset with strong quality orientation
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with individuals in global locations
- Ability and willingness to challenge the status quo and deliver the best products
