Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Facility Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Paoli, Pennsylvania.
Overview
The main function of a mobile engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple facilities. They are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations, while being multi-skilled in others.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep systems up to standards.
- Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper functioning of all systems.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.
- Maintain equipment including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Perform periodic checks of tool and inventory supplies.
- Monitor the quality and pricing of work performed by outside contractors.
- Follow all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize hazards, proposing methods to mitigate them.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Ability to analyze operation of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, diagnose issues, and take corrective action.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
